What is a program review?

When reviewing a program some questions that could be considered include:

  • Who is the program attracting?
  • What types of referrals are being received?
  • What types of referrers are referring to you?
  • What cohorts of men is the program attracting defined by cultural and sociodemographic variables, or nature and degree of risk they pose to family members?
  • What cohorts of men is the program not attracting?
  • What are the variables by which men who complete the program differ from those who do not?
  • What variables appear to have an influence on program completion?
  • What are the patterns of service provision for adult and child victims?
  • What are the variables correlated with who participates in partner or family support services, and those who do not?
  • In what ways might the program not be being delivered as planned?
  • How is the implementation of some program components occurring more or less often than envisaged, and why?
  • How have danger situations and specific risk situations been handled?
  • Other forms of critical incidents?
  • What have been the practice management strategies in relation to predicting and managing acute spikes in risk?
  • What have been the information sharing and collaborative working relationships between the program provider and partner agencies?
